After more than 50 years of teaching Street Self Defense based on World War 2 combatives, Mongolian wrestling, and dirty fighting in New York City. Charles Nelson retired and moved to Arkansas. Mr. Nelson and his family turned over the system and teachings to his close student and friend Robert Spiegel.
Sadly Mr. Nelson passed away on December 10, 2003 after long rich life. Mr. Spiegel continued to train with Mr. Nelson right up to his passing.
The last Self Defense concepts Charlie developed what he termed “Social Self Defense”. This was designed for use when deadly force was not needed or appropriate. Mr. Spiegel continues to teach the public, law enforcement, and the military the simple yet effective Charles Nelson Defense System.
